Formulation: Cefepime 2 g Powder for Injection
Indications: It is used in infections due to suspected or documented Gram-negative organisms resistant to cephalosporins like sepsis, pneumonia and meningitis. It is also used for severe mixed Gram-positive and Gram-negative infections and for empiric monotherapy in febrile neutropenic patients.
Dosage: The usual adult dose is 1 to 2 g daily divided doses for mild to moderate infections, increased to 4 g daily in 2 divided doses in severe infections, although up to 6 g daily in 3 divided doses has been given for febrile neutropenia.
Side Effects: The most common adverse effects are hypersensitivity reaction, skin rashes, urticaria eosinophilia, fever, reaction resembling serum and anaphylaxis.
Storage: Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
